Studio Manager 7.6 New Features

RELEASED APRIL 20, 2006

Still FileMaker 7 and 8 Compatible

Since the release of Studio Manager 7.5, we've been tweaking it and have added four new features: (1) Job Specs, (2) A Stopwatch in Timesheets, (3) Client Billing Statements and (4) a Job Profitability Report.

JOB SPECS GET A PROMOTION

Sophisticated Job Specs Architecture

We used to not really have fields for job specs (like paper stock) because each creative firm we worked with used different specs and terminology. Due to popular demand, we created a more flexible structure that lets you use your own spec labels without a hassle. Extra advantages include: (1) you have up to 10 lines for each job spec but extra unused vertical space disappears when you print, (2) you can add custom specs when you need them, (3) you can delete specs that aren't relevant to a particular job. You have plenty of room to store specs so everyone is clear about job details.

WE'VE GOT A STOPWATCH NOW

Each User Can Decide To Use a Timer or Not

We've gotten requests for years to put a stopwatch timer into Studio Manager and never did it because only a minority of people like stop watches. However, we found a way to make the stopwatch optional. So now, if you want the stopwatch it is right there in your timesheet and, if you don't, you tab right past it and enter your time directly.

TimesheetWe've added little amenities to the stopwatch too. For example, you can enter a time duration and then turn the timer on because you forgot to start the timer and were already 20 minutes into the work. And when you stop a timer, you land in the duration field in case you need to tweak the time because you didn't turn the timer off on time. Just in case you need it.

CLIENT BILLING STATEMENTS

Fill in today's date the easy way

Did you ever have a client that got way behind on their payments? Now we have a quick summary report that you can print to let them know exactly what they owe. All overdue invoices show up on the report, along with the balance due. This is so easy, you'll improve your cash flow without breaking a sweat.

JOB PROFITABILITY REPORT

Where NOT to move fields and other report objects.

This is a summary report that shows you a list of jobs for a particular date range or client. It allows you to see how things are going with these jobs in a single glance. The report shows you estimated vs. actual hours and dollars, total costs and profit or loss for each job you do. Run this baby once a month to see the big picture. Use it in conjunction with the Job Status report.
